I joined Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College on 1st May, 2017 after my retirement as Professor of Surgery, Allama iqbal Medical College / Jinnah Hospital Lahore. Before that, I was Head of Department of Surgery PGMI/AMC/LGH, Lahore. I served KEMU/ Mayo Hospital Lahore for 27 years in different positions starting from House Officer till Professor of Surgery. I also worked as Associate Professor Surgery SIMS, Lahore for two years.
I am a Kemcolian of 1981 batch. I did ECFMG Certification (FMGEM), Fellowship from CPSP, Karachi and Certificate in Medical Education (CMT) from UHS, Lahore. Currently I hold the post of Senior Vice President PETSA ( Pakistan Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons Association ) and I am dedicated the job of teaching surgery to MBBS students Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College, Lahore.
Dr. Aftab Ahmad Baig

I have done my graduation from Hamdard College of Medicine & Dentistry, Karachi in 2004. After completion of my house job, I did my postgraduate training from Shaikh Zayed Hospital, Lahore and passed my fellowship examination in 2011 in General Surgery. After my fellowship I have worked as Senior Registrar in Jinnah Hospital Lahore for about one year and later on as Senior Registrar in a tertiary care hospital, Saudi Arabia for about four years. I have joined Akhtar Saeed Medical & Dental College, Lahore on 19th December 2017 and since then working with this institution as Assistant Professor of General Surgery.
Dr. Hummaz Mehbub

Dr. Khumair Asif house-job, he gained valuable experience for two years as a Medical Officer in General Surgery, following which he was successfully inducted into the FCPS General Surgery training programme at Akhtar Saeed Trust Hospital, Lahore. His exemplary performance during residency led to his election as Chief Registrar at the end of this training, a role in which he demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to patient care. He successfully passed his FCPS General Surgery board qualification exam in 2024, achieving a major milestone, and was elected as a Fellow to the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan.
Dr. Hummaz likes to keep at the forefront of surgical innovation, seeking to improve patient outcomes through technological advancements. His pursuit of excellence has led to the development of a keen interest in minimally invasive and robotic gastrointestinal and hernia surgeries, one that extends to exploring the integration and implications of artificial intelligence in healthcare and surgery.
Beyond his surgical practice, Dr. Hummaz is a dedicated educator and actively engages in teaching and training medical students and surgical residents. He regularly organizes and conducts surgical
skills workshops, sharing his expertise and fostering the next generation of surgeons. He is committed to the advancement of surgical knowledge and his involvement in surgical audits and academic research has led to numerous publications in both national and international journals.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Hummaz is an avid reader and enjoys spending his free time engaged in books and crosswords. He cherishes spending quality time with his family and pets, balancing his professional dedication with personal fulfillment.
