Dr. M. Sharjeel Ilyas
HOD/Associate Professor
Dr Muhammad Sharjeel Ilyas has a Bachelors (BDS) from the Nishtar Medical College (Bahauddin Zakariya University) Multan and M-Phil in the subject of Oral Biology and Tooth Morphology in 2014 from University of Health Sciences, Lahore. He has an experience of 23 years working as an academician, clinician, and researcher with a strong interdisciplinary background particularly in the field of Oral Biology. He has been teaching, training and supervising postgraduate students as well as undergraduate students in the field of dentistry at Postgraduate Medical Institute, Lahore for 13 years. He has supervised and co supervised more than 12 projects of postgraduate students. He has done a number of collaborative projects with International Medical University, Malaysia., Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, KSA., and COMSATS (IRCBM), Lahore, Pakistan. The focal objective of his research is to accelerate healing of soft and hard tissues of oral cavity. Presently he is serving as Associate Professor and Head of the department of Oral Biology and Tooth Morphology at Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College, Lahore.
Special Interests:
In vivo (animal model and clinical trials) for repair and regeneration of soft and hard tissues in the oral cavity by using modified Bio active glass, hydroxyapatite crystals and mucoadhesive membrane.
In vivo (animal model) for novel adhesive and composite filling material for crosslinking and adhesion to dentin and regeneration of tertiary dentin.
Clinical trials for association of genes with dental caries in children.

Dr. Kanza Nawadat
Assistant Professor
Dr. Kanza Nawadat graduated from Islamic International Medical and Dental College Islamabad in 2012. She did her post graduation (M.Sc Oral Biology) with a Merit from Queen Mary University of London in 2015. Right after her M.Sc degree she joined Islamabad Medical and Dental College in Dec 2015 as a Senior Registrar in the Department of Oral Biology, where she served for a period of 2 years. There she was actively involved in the teaching of Oral Biology and Tooth Morphology to the 1st year BDS students. She was also under training for the modular education system program supervised by a very competent team of medical and dental education at Islamabad Medical and Dental College. She joined Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College as an Assistant Professor in January 2018.
Presently she is serving as an Assistant professor and Head of the Department of Oral Biology and Tooth Morphology at Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College Lahore.
